About the Allis-Chalmers UC
The Allis-Chalmers UC was the row-crop version of the Model U, designed for cultivating between rows. It was a narrow, steel-wheel-era tractor with a four-cylinder gasoline engine, three- or four-speed transmission, and the layout needed for row-crop work.
Engine Changes by Serial Number
UC1–UC1268 used Continental engines. UC1269–UC2281 used Allis-Chalmers 300 cu. in. engines. UC2281 and later used Allis-Chalmers 318 cu. in. engines.

Serial number locations: The tractor serial number is stamped on the rear axle near the PTO.
