Mechanic Notes
- Useful when servicing the brake anchor pins on Allis-Chalmers WD, WD45, WD45 Diesel, and early D17 tractors.
- These brake pins are often tight from rust, dirt, and years of use, so soaking the area with penetrating oil before using the puller is recommended.
- The puller needs enough of the pin head left to grip. If less than half of the head remains, the tool may not work correctly.
- Before pulling the pin, relieve brake linkage tension and make sure the puller is seated squarely on the pin head.
- When the pin is removed, clean the bore before reassembly so the replacement or reused pin seats properly.
