It helps prevent contaminated fuel and debris from entering the sediment bowl and fuel lines.

Notes
Universal for most models with stem style sediment bowl assemblies. To fit some sediment bowl assemblies, you must drill the sediment bowl stem out to 3/8" (0.375").
