About the Allis-Chalmers 180

The Allis-Chalmers 180 was introduced in 1967 as the larger six-cylinder partner to the 170. It was offered with a gasoline or diesel engine, power steering, and an eight-speed partial power-shift transmission.

Early material calls the tractor the One-Eighty, while later tractors carry the numeric 180 marking. It was part of the newer Hundred series that Allis-Chalmers used to move beyond the D Series, and the serial number table below follows the 180 production run through 1973.

Serial number locations: The tractor serial number is on the left front side of the torque housing. The engine serial number is on the left side of the engine block in front of the oil filler cap.
