Allis Chalmers WD Tractor Parts

About the Allis-Chalmers WD

The WD brought Allis-Chalmers' two-clutch Power Control system to the row-crop tractor market when it was introduced in 1948. The foot clutch handled the main drive, while the hand-operated wet clutch let the PTO keep turning when the tractor slowed or stopped.

Built through 1953, the WD also introduced power-shifted rear wheels and used a four-speed transmission. The WD was followed by the higher-powered WD45.

Serial Number Reference

Serial number locations: The tractor serial number is stamped at the left brake cover or the left rear of the axle housing. The engine serial number is on the left-hand side of the engine near the carburetor.
